Part A: Rethinking the Design of an Everyday Object
Students identify specific ways to improve all stages of the life cycle of an everyday object.
Student Activities:
Using their analysis of the everyday object, students recommend both short and long-term changes that will benefit humans and the rest of the natural world.
Part B: Communicating Suggestions for Change
Students will learn how to communicate their concerns or appreciation about specific business practices directly to a company. Students will gain experience and confidence in communicating to companies.
Student Activities:
Students read reviews of companies that manufacture the everyday object they examined earlier. Students use these reviews and their own analysis of the object to communicate to the companies about what they think is being done well and/or provide suggestions for improvements to the product's life cycle.
